Dr. Andy Gentry- Principal


Andy Gentry was born and raised in Houston County. After high school, he attended college on a baseball scholarship where he played at Georgia College and then at Georgia Southwestern. He received both his Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Physical Education from Georgia Southwestern. He later attended Argosy University where he earned a Specialist degree and Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership.
Dr. Gentry has 19 years of teaching, coaching and administrative experience in the Houston County school system. He taught and coached at Perry Middle School, Perry High School, and Houston County High School. He was the Assistant Principal at Mossy Creek from 2007- 2012. He became the principal of Mossy Creek on July 1st, 2012.

Ms. Olethia Thomas- Assistant Principal of Instruction


Ms. Thomas received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from Clark Atlanta University where she majored in Biology. She began her educational career in the DeKalb County School System. She worked as a gifted science and math teacher, coach, and department chair. After returning to school to study educational leadership, she received both a Master’s of Education degree from Georgia State University and an Educational Specialist Degree from Columbus State University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education degree through Valdosta State University. As a product of the Houston County School System, Ms. Thomas is proud to be able to give back to such a dynamic system. In Houston County, she has been fortunate to work with an energetic and innovative team of teachers and leaders throughout her career. As part of the Houston County School System, she has served at Huntington Middle School as a science teacher and Feagin Mill Middle School as the Assistant Principal for Discipline. Ms. Thomas hopes to make a positive and significant impact on the student achievement and faculty and staff development while working at Mossy Creek Middle School as the Assistant Principal for Instruction.

Mr. Frank Kenney- Assistant Principal of Discipline


Mr. Kenney received his Bachelor’s of Science degree from Georgia College and State University where he majored in Health and Physical Education. He got a job teaching computers at Northside Middle School in 2001. After a year of teaching computers he moved in to the classroom and started teaching science after receiving his add-on. Through-out his eleven years at Northside Middle School, Mr. Kenney took on the role of Team Leader, member of the Better Seeking Team, Leadership Team, DATA team, Department Chair for Science, as well as coached football, soccer, and baseball. He later returned to school to receive his Masters and Specialists Degrees in Educational Leadership from Georgia College and State University. Mr. Kenney is married to Kathy Kenney who is also a teacher in Houston County. They have two children named Ethan and Avery. Mr. Kenney is very excited to be the Assistant Principal for Discipline at Mossy Creek Middle School.
