Miss Smith is a product of the Houston County system, an alumnus of both Mossy Creek Middle and Houston County High.

Miss Smith attended Georgia Southern University where she earned a degree in Middle Grades Education.

Along with teaching 8th grade Language Arts and Georgia History, Miss Smith is the head coach of the Competition Cheerleading squad and one of the directors of the MCMS Theater Program.
